The Kings County Public Health Department was one of the first entities of it's kind to adopt the Air Quality Flag in California, "Promoting and Preventing Respiratory Distress". The flag ceremony followed a brief description of the air quality index and the corresoponding colors of the flags on September 6th, 2007. Thanks to all those who joined us on this historical event. Children's Health Month

Ten years ago, the EPA established the Office of Children's Health Protection to make the health protection of children a fundamental goal of public health and environmental protection. Since that time the EPA has celebrated by declaring each October as Children's Health Month. This year, Monday October 4, 2010 is declared as the official observance of Child Health Day.
